DNAInfo: Should we limit Tompkins Square Park concerts, asks residents

Local residents seek to limit Tompkins Square Park concerts to one per weekend.

From DNAInfo:

“…but based on recent gripes from neighbors, Community Board 3 passed a resolution this week seeking to scale back the number of concerts held during weekends, requesting the scheduling of shows just one day per weekend, and even moving some to other parks in non-residential areas.”

Update: East Village vs. Zynga Campaign, ‘Clean Up!’

Still awaiting response from gaming company, Zynga, regarding clean up efforts on their street marketing campaign.

I’ll be reaching out to more representatives at Zynga today.

NYCTheBlog has helped me take the effort to the city, reaching out to the NYC’s Sanitation department.

Meanwhile - I just wanted to thank you EVERYONE so far helping get the word out: BoweryBoogie, NYCTheBlog, NYPress, EVGrieve, CitizenNYC, and others!

Thank you!

‘The Villager’ Moving to Thursday Publication

neighborhoodr-eastvillage:

The Villager will now be published one day later in the week, hitting newsstands and street news boxes on Thursdays, instead of Wednesdays. Subscribers hopefully should receive their Villagers in the mail on Fridays. The change of publication date will allow us to provide more thorough post-election coverage, and also to cover Community Board 3 full board meetings — which were always inconveniently on our deadline nights — in a more thorough and timely manner.
