“16 Handles, a self-serve frozen yogurt operation based in New York City, is now offering franchises to qualified individuals in the Northeast. A limited number of franchises are available for New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Maryland. “
“The goal is to have 15 stores open in the next two years, Choi says.”

One new franchisee is planning to open an Upper East Side location at 1569 Second Ave. at the end of this month, and two additional Manhattan outposts over the next 18 months.

A bevy of ethnic festivals will take place this weekend. On Saturday, the Cool Japan Festival in the East Village (Fourth Avenue between Eighth and Tenth Streets), from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. will offer sample dishes from a number of restaurants in the neighborhood.
